- Get 110 g (4 oz) butter or margarine
- Get 110 g (4 oz) sugar
- Provide 170 g (6 oz) dates, stoned and chopped
- Use 55 g (2 oz) glace cherries, quartered
- You need 55 g (2 oz) sultanas
- Use 70 g (2 1/2 oz) Rice Krispies®
- Get 110 g to 170g (4 to 6 oz) plain chocolate, melted

- Grease a deep baking tray or line with greaseproof paper.
- In a saucepan over a low heat, melt the margarine and stir in the sugar. Add the dates and bring to the boil. Once boiling, remove from the heat and mix in the cherries, sultanas and cereal. Transfer to the prepared baking tray and press into the sides. (don't press down and compress it, it makes it too hard) Chill in the fridge to set.
